I’m an illustrator living in Oxford, UK. I like working in a loose, expressive way using a variety of materials such as ink, watercolour, kids paint sticks, actual sticks and scrappy old paintbrushes. I’m not choosy. My favourite thing is drawing from life in a sketchbook, which I do every day. Like lots of artists, I love natural history and landscape, but I’m mainly inspired by family life, especially children, and the amazing way they view the world.

I grew up in Scotland. I went to Glasgow School of Art, and then later to Edinburgh College of Art to do a Master’s degree. After that, I went to France on artist’s residencies, came back to Scotland and did some teaching in schools and museums. I moved south to Oxford more or less on a whim, where I met my husband. Now we live here with our young daughter.

My special interest is illustrating and inventing children’s stories; I’m also keen on children’s fiction and reference too.

So a warm welcome to my website! Click on the ‘work’ section to see what I do.
